The Atomos Ninja Video Hard Disk Recorder is a high-quality recorder for your HDMI-capable camcorders and DSLRs. Implementing Apple ProRes in the hardware, the Ninja records 10-bit videos in real-time.
Supporting up to 480 x 270 resolution and input formats up to 1080i and 1080p, it features easy operation via a color 16:9 TFT touch screen for performing 4 main functions - play, stop, record, and monitor.
Housed in a master caddy, the Ninja Hard Disk Recorder holds 2.5” Notebook HDD or SDD hot-swappable drives. With a recording time of 8 hours for high-quality Apple ProRes video on a 750GB/5400 rpm hard disk, the unit also extends support to solid state devices for operation in rugged areas.
An active/passive dual battery system enables easy swapping of the batteries, which supplies a continuous flow of power in case the main battery is drained. FireWire 800, USB 2/3, and e-SATA provide total flexibility when connection is made to a MacBook, iMac, or MacPro, by inserting the Master Caddy in the Master Caddy Dock.
The recorder is made of lightweight, high-grade aluminum, and offers easy access to batteries and connectors. It comes with a 1/4” (6.35mm) headphone out that enables you to monitor the audio level adjustments, and the line level audio offers good quality audio. The disk recorder can be accessed from a remote location via a LANC loop.
