Recently I revisited some of my gentoo penguin shots from the South America trip I took earlier this year. A friend of mine said this shot reminded him of a penguin rock band album cover so this is the one I chose :) What a treat it was to see these gentoo penguins in the wild. These little guys always make me smile with their animated ways. This little critter had a dirty belly from his last good meal. Guess that is a sign that the penguins on the islands are still finding enough fish to satisfy their hunger. A fellow photographer gave me a tip to lie down on the ground and the penguins would waddle over my direction, this little tip worked!
Anyway, this was the trip of a lifetime and I would highly recommend this area to anyone who is considering it. I have a South America collection as well for anyone who is interested in seeing more of my snaps from this area. I dream of seeing Antarctica one day to just soak up all the wildlife & majestic landscape views there. I'll be saving my pennies for awhile for that trip.
